SET EXPO: DTV+ will be the name of the new TV 3.0 standard in Brazil

The SBTVD Forum announced during SET EXPO the launch of the TV 3.0 brand: DTV+, the new generation of Brazilian open TV.

The Brazilian Digital Terrestrial Television System Forum (SBTVD Forum) took advantage of its presence at SET EXPO, which took place from August 20 to 22 in the Anhembi District, to launch the brand of what could become the new open TV standard in Brazil, DTV+, which offers better image and sound quality with an intuitive interface and improved connectivity.

DTV+ will integrate TV channels and digital content, creating a unified and simple platform, Raymundo Barros, president of the SBTVD Forum, explained to the press, saying that “with the brand defined, we can advance even further with the strategic actions of TV 3.0 and leverage the technology at a national and international level”.

During SET EXPO, Barros explained, visitors had the opportunity to explore technologies such as 4K/Ultra-High Definition video, immersive audio (MPEG-H) and customizable audio, app-based user interface, multi-device accessibility and emergency alert. In addition, guided tours were offered to guests and associates, providing a detailed look at these innovations.

The demonstrations were carried out through the partnerships of the SBTVD Forum with academic institutions, the National Education and Research Network (RNP), the Ministry of Communications and associated companies such as Fraunhofer IIS, Samsung, Mirakulo, EiTV, ATEME and V-Nova.
